Becoming…an artist

I have to show my ideas...

I have to show my ideas…

Now I have to become an artist, I need to communicate all these ideas visually, without any program notes.

I schlep along to “life drawing” at the local art group.

I slowly learn to “make my mark”, as all artists describe it. I ask artistic friends for guidance, I talk to my sister’s friend about set design and exhibition transportation. I meet with Craft Victoria as part of their Practitioner Mentor Program.

Every time I am in Tasmania I go to MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art and let my imagination run from exhibit to exhibit, looking, feeling, imagining, experiencing…

I read books, watch YouTube and keep liaising with the conference company in Paris to try and present a semblance of competence.

I have virtually no budget and need to look at ways of selling the pieces. But I’m determined and am hoping that, in the crucible of all this pressure, some kind of alchemy will deliver this project.
